About Savannah Traveler

Why I Started Savannah Traveler

As a lifelong resident of Savannah, I started Savannah Traveler to share my passion for this incredible city and to connect with visitors and travelers looking to experience all it has to offer. For years, I found myself taking guests to the same handful of spots, realizing there was so much more to Savannah than the usual recommendations. That’s why I created this space—to help you discover the best places to eat, drink, shop, stay, and explore while you’re here.

Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, my goal is to make your time in Savannah unforgettable by sharing local favorites, hidden gems, and the stories that make this city so special. From iconic landmarks to off-the-beaten-path treasures, Savannah Traveler is your guide to experiencing the Hostess City like a true insider. Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here!

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@savannahtraveler.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Savannah offers a variety of activities for first-time visitors. Start with the Old Town Trolley Tour to explore the city's historic districts. Visit must-see landmarks like Forsyth Park, the Savannah History Museum, and River Street for a taste of the city's charm. Don't miss exploring SCADstory and enjoying local cuisine at iconic eateries like Carey Hilliard’s or The Grey. For a spooky twist, consider a Savannah ghost tour, as the city is known for its haunted history.

I update Savannah Traveler regularly, at least once a week. Sometimes I may post more frequently if I have a lot to share, or less frequently if I am traveling or busy with other projects.

The best time to visit Savannah is during spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) when the weather is pleasant and the city's gardens are in full bloom. Events like the Savannah Music Festival and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade attract visitors from all over the world. Winter offers milder temperatures and fewer crowds, while summer is ideal for beachgoers heading to nearby Tybee Island.

Yes! Our team lives in Savannah and is passionate about our city. We draw from personal experiences and local insights to provide authentic and up-to-date recommendations. From favorite brunch spots to historic landmarks, every suggestion is tried and tested to ensure visitors have an unforgettable experience.

Absolutely! Savannah is one of the most pet-friendly cities in the South. Many parks, including Forsyth Park, welcome pets, and several restaurants, such as The Collins Quarter, offer dog-friendly patios. Stroll along River Street or take your furry friend to Tybee Island, where dogs are allowed in designated areas. Always check local guidelines to ensure a smooth experience.
